~Skincare Review: Dr. Douxi Cleansing Glacier Clay Mask~

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I did a skincare review ^.^  This time I didn't pick this item for myself but my sister actually wanted me to try this item out :'D Thanks Bub!! She also bought some mask packs and gave me a few so I'll do a separate review of those too! They all look so promising :3

I have no idea where she finds all these things but apparently they're very good. The clay masks and sheet masks she got were all from a website called Imomoko~Apparently her order came earlier than expected so I guess that must mean there were no problems were her order ^.^ Great! Since I don't know much about the website I'll just stick to reviewing the items haha xD

Here's the packaging of the clay mask:

"Cleanse your skin and reach an effect of deep purification, which will enhance the quality of the skin."

Nothing especially cute but it looks and feels (weight wise) like there's a lot of product inside before you actually open it up. There's a small sticker on the side as the seal. I've actually never even heard of this "Dr. Douxi" brand either hahaha~ But I guess she looked up reviews on it and said it was good for my oily skin type.

Oh yeah that's another thing, this product is almost all in Taiwanese and it doesn't come with instructions on how long to leave it for or how often to use it (in English) so I just kind of winged it hahahaha. I mean, how hard can clay masks be to use?  :D

Oh wait, I just went onto the website and there are instructions on there! Take a looksie:

A screenshot I just took from the website! The instructions are basically what I did, and I mean anyone who has used some sort of mask before basically knows the drill hahaha~

Turns out, they aren't difficult to use at all! Surprise surprise lol. Upon first opening the tub there's a plastic covering.

Then when you peel that off there's the mask liquid! It really is quite liquid-y actually, I just tipped it a little bit and it flowed right away.

It looks grey and kind of like concrete, but the consistency is velvety and nice!

There was so much mask on the lid that I used that on my whole face with some left over on the lid still! So I haven't actually dipped into the mask liquid itself yet but when I do I plan on using an extra spatula I got with my Tony Moly apple cream. You guys know how I feel about double dipping and things lol. I put the whole tub in the fridge before I took a shower so it would be slightly cold when I put it on~ (So refreshing! heehee<3) It was only in there for about 30 minutes because I tend to dilly-dally before showering, but it didn't solidify or get chunky or anything, just nice and cold :3

Before applying the mask I steamed my face (even though I took a shower right before doing this I took a cold shower because it was a hot day haha [which reminds me, I haven't been steaming very much lately because of how hot it's been but I really should start doing it again lol]) and then applied some Skin Food cucumber toner (should I do a review on this in the future?) with a cotton pad.

So SMOOOOOTH~

Aaaand just glomp it on your face! Actually, avoid glomping too much onto your face. You really won't need a thick layer for it to be effective!

BAM! Right after covering my whole face with the stuff >:D hahaha

Then I waited awhile, looked up some places to go in Portland, watched most of a Korean variety show, ate some yogurt with granola, overall I almost lost track of time lol. But I left it on for a total of about 35-45 minutes. It's easy to forget you have a mask on your face sometimes, but this mask gets hard and my face was stiff after awhile so I thought it was time to wash it off ^.^

Yummm Greek Honey yogurt :3 we got a big tub from Costco!

Washed half of my face and had a Mulan "Reflection" moment. Classic. Also notable, the mask goes from a dark grayish color to a light bluish color! Like a glacier color I guess? hahaha~COOL!

After washing the whole mask off and drying my face :D I tried to get the same lighting as the first "before" picture but then I realized that the bathrooms have the strong light coming from different sides so it would be different either way haha.

My skin felt very clean and refreshed afterwards. That's another reason I prefer wash off masks like the clay ones to sheet masks because sometimes after I wear a sheet mask I feel a little sticky. This is the first legit clay masks I've tried actually. In the past I've used those dual leave on masks/exfoliating face washes. But I still have yet to try a mud mask or other clay masks.

When I'm not using the mask I keep it on top of my closet (a cool dry place) where it won't be disturbed and can be accessed easily. The only time I keep it in the fridge is about half an hour before using it ^___^

TL;DR:
Scent: Light and very bearable, reminiscent of lavender baby bubble bath~ 10/10

Application: You have to dip so 7/10 since it doesn't come with a spatula or anything. But consistency wise it's a nice and easy application that feels good on the skin.

Results: So far it's made some of my redness go down upon first application, although these days my redness seems to be getting better and better in general :D No new pimples came up when I used it, another good sign. And my skin didn't come out oily or dry after use, meaning it fits in really well with my normal skin routine in keeping my skin at a good ratio of moist and dry ^o^ If that makes sense hahaha 9/10 (because I've only used it once).

Overall I would use this mask again, I'm planning on using it once a week actually to see if it has any really good effects over time. I'll update this or create another post if my feeling change dramatically about this mask, but so far I really like it! Maybe at the five week mark? Sound good? Lol~ On the website it says this mask will help with pores and oil which is perfect for my skin type! Anti aging doesn't mean much to me right now but maybe in the future? Lol

~Thingy Review: Kuro Digi Mini Digital Camera~

Size comparison: the camera to a gift card! >o<

Yay for a cute new review segment! I think I've only reviewed beauty products and online stores so far, but this time I want to specifically do a review on one item: this Kuro Digi Mini Digital Camera! It's meant to be a small toy keychain camera with digital camera capabilities ^>^ You guys know how much I love small cute things hahaha~ And cameras are my FAVE so maybe in the future if people found this review helpful I'll review my other toy cameras as well? ^.^

I haven't seen too many reviews on this toy camera although the brand it comes from is quite popular. It's by the brand Superheadz and there are three different designs to choose from! I like the black because I think it would be cute to decorate lol~ I bought mine on Amazon here.

Right off the bat I can say that the whole buying and shipping process with this Amazon store was very fast and easy. That's mainly why I'm not doing a store review but rather a review of the camera itself ^.^ I ordered on July 27th and it came Aug 1st and the only issue I had with this order happened with the post office so I won't talk about that this time hahaha~

The camera came in the original packaging of course and was packed nicely in a sturdy box, nothing fancy, it just had some brown paper around it so it wouldn't jiggle around inside the box. And the receipt was outside the box in plastic. I bought mine for $14.95 plus $4.65 for shipping (total: $19.60), which I thought was reasonable considering other sites sold this same camera for around $25 with free shipping.

Since I looked at the measurements of the camera beforehand and tried to look up some comparison pictures I already knew approximately how small it would be. On the website the measurements listed are 2.36x0.79x1.5 inches and it's pretty accurate! So make sure you keep that in mind when you order so you're not surprised at how tiny and cute this camera is when you receive it! I love the adorable size but it might be too small for some people's tastes, just a warning ^.^

I have another mini toy camera I might do a review on in the future. It's a Fuuvi chocolate camera and I love it to bits but it's so thin and fragile I'd hate to take it places if it got lost or broken D: This camera is a bit chunkier and heavier so it feels sturdier to me overall, which I like :D It's mostly sturdier because it requires 1 AAA battery (included) and an SD card if you plan on taking lots of pics (not included! haha). So make sure you have some extra triple A's on hand as well as an SD card with a max of 2GB on it~

Superheadz is a Japanese brand I believe? That's why a lot of the stuff that came with the camera (paper wise) were in Japanese. But fear not! This camera comes with a small disc with all the English instructions and such so make sure you have access to a computer that can accept discs! I know my Air can't take discs T__T Wonderful haha xD

UwU SOO CUTEEE and tiny!! This is the camera when it's off and the lens is closed! You have to pull the side of the camera to reveal the viewfinder and the lens!

Here's all the non paper stuff it comes with (disc not pictured here oops haha) One triple A battery and a cord to connect to your computer so you can upload your photos :3 Here you can also see the camera in it's "open" state.

The display screen where you can see how many pictures you've taken and adjust the modes! It's off in this picture because I didn't put the battery in yet!

The different modes you can choose from are low, medium, and high res shots, burst mode (three consecutive pictures), timer, and video (can't remember how many seconds lol). There are also format options so you can clear your SD on the camera or just the camera memory and you can't delete specific shots only the last one you took. The camera also makes cute little beep-y noises to tell you when the picture has been taken ^.^

There's a toggle on the side which I'm assuming adjusts the lens so it's better suited for portrait or landscape shots! Handy!

Smaller than a gift card or really any card like a debit or credit card.

At first I was confused on where to put the battery because there weren't any paper instructions and I was too lazy to go on my old laptop that had a disc drive hahaha~ But I ended up having to put the disc in anyways because I got frustrated (hint: Do read through the instructions, they're quite helpful! hahaha) And basically you just have to push the viewfinder in while pulling the camera out of it's shell sort of casing I guess? Hahaha here:

I haven't taken many shots on this yet and so far all I have to say about this is that it's super tiny and cute and convenient but don't expect perfect quality shots out of this! Take extra pictures with a backup camera if you're worried about the quality and your memories and such. And you can use the view finder to line up your shot but don't rely on it to get your object perfectly framed because it isn't connected to the the lens so technically what you're seeing through the view finder is a little above the actual shot! If you've used an Instax instant camera before you know what I'm talking about hahaha~ Viewfinders on toy cameras can be tricky sometimes. My last bit of wisdom is to just take care of the camera, try not to bash it about because it's still quite fragile and have fun with it! You might get a few looks from people because it looks fake ^>^ so it's pretty funny too hahaha~

I'm going on a road trip with the fam to Portland this weekend so perhaps if I get enough shots I'll post them on my travel post in the future so you guys can see the quality!!

~Shop Review: Mountain Deer on Storenvy (TL;DR DON'T Buy Here!!)~

Hey guys. Having to make this post makes me frustrated haha but at least you who are interested in possibly buying from here can at least read through my review and reconsider!! If you read the title you already know my overall feelings about the store, but please read on if you want to know the details about what happened T___T

LOL I don't know if you guys can see from this picture but I have stuff in my cart right now hahaha~ (From OTHER Storenvy stores)

If you don't already know about Storenvy it's basically a marketplace where they sell tons of different things (and some of the same things) from all different stores for various prices. I'm being vague aren't I? Hahaha sorry ^__^ But really anyone can open up their own online store through the Storenvy platform and you can sell anything from clothes to foods and other goods on there as well! Don't get me wrong, Storenvy itself is a pretty neat idea and really has opened up the people to expand their buying and selling options. That being said, since truly ANYONE can open up a store on here (I might even open one up soon ;D) it's super easy to get scammed on here. And me being me I thought I was careful enough to avoid those situations but I ignored all the red flags I noticed from the get-go from the website Mountain Deer on Storenvy.


Red flag #1: The website poses very low prices in comparison to some other shops that sell the same things. It may just seem like you're getting a good deal on something online sometimes, but other times it can just be another sign that it's a scam! Do your research and don't give into the good price like I did!

Here they sell "Kankens" for $25!! Usually they're $50-$75. Also the tote I bought is now being sold for $10.

Red flag #2: They only have 8 sales! That was including mine! And I had no idea how long the website had been around prior to my purchase, how dumb of me. The only thing I knew was approximately the last time they updated their website, hence red flag #3...

*gasp* Two people have bought since I last bought!! *___* Good luck you guys! I hope you don't get ripped off as well!! D:

Red flag #3: The latest offer on their website was during Christmas time of some year when they offered a free shirt with your purchase.

Red flag #4: They changed the price of the item as soon as I started browsing their website. I know there is someone operating the website currently because they accepted my money (sort of) and when I tried to buy an item I checked back a few days later it went from $7 then to $8 the next day and a week later it was up to $10! Mind you, the price only went up on the item I was trying to buy and nothing else. They also added an item that is popular in other stores for a ridiculously low price and no picture.

I bought it for $8 even though when I first saw it it was $7... Also here you can see I paid $7.50 for shipping.

Then a few days later it's up to $10!! Still cheap but sketchy...

Red flag #5: Like I said, this store "sort of" accepted my money in two ways. When I tried to use my Visa gift card (I don't like using my debit online) it rejected it but the charge shows up online and says "Pending" under my order history anyways! Fishy...Of course I was stupid and my cheapness kicked in and I used my debit card anyways! Good thing they didn't fish my money out of my account or something o.o

Red flag #6: Shipping can be high sometimes if they're doing it internationally, that I can understand and that's why I was willing to pay $7.50 for shipping (so dumb). But I ignored the fact that the website said nothing about tracking information (or lack thereof) upon ordering from the store. Usually stores tell you how much you need to order to get tracking info but this store mentioned nothing at all about it T__T

Those are some of the red flags I can think of right away but there were probably more. The FAQ looked promising and I thought since there was someone adjusting the prices of things in the store that the promises of "refunds" would be kept. But it was a week after my order and I still had not received any answer of emails from the merchant about my order and I knew it was too good to be true. Here's the full story from start to end:

I had been looking for this canvas bag for quite some time now. It's super cute but I couldn't find the original maker and instead I found it on Mountain Deer for $7 (at the time). I guess that's what I get for trying to buy a bag with a stolen design, I don't even know if the merchant has the consent of the artist to use this print!! Ugh. Anyways. After a few days of looking through the website and apparently trusting them I made a purchase (even after finding out my gift card wouldn't work on there!! YIKES! Don't do it you guys!!) Supposedly the items were shipped from "Paris, France" and that's why the FAQ said it would take 2-3 weeks and to contact them right away if the package didn't come before then. A couple days later when the money was taken from my account with the confirmation e-mail that Storenvy sends automatically for the merchant I fired them an e-mail saying I wasn't given any tracking information with my confirmation e-mail. No response. When the third week came but the package didn't I got worried and contacted the merchant for two days in every way I could, through the e-mail given by Storenvy as well as through their store. I even went so far as to look up the given e-mail on Facebook and messaged them on their (they had no profile picture or info and only a few friends) I even sent the emails in English and French just in case! By the fourth week I contacted Storenvy about the matter but all they did was e-mail the merchant to e-mail me (which they didn't) so I'll be following up with them about that. Finally fed up about the whole situation I decided to file a dispute with my bank online (and I won! woo hoo!) and got my money refunded to me after explaining my whole story ^>^ Which made me extremely happy~

The bottom line is, if you come across sketchy stores like this one, DON'T be cheap and try to dive in! I'm actually kind of glad I did it with my debit now because at least I could get my money back. Remember to always proceed online with caution!!

~Lifestyle Update: Arcade in a Mall?? And BESTIES!~

Hello hello all! Care to know a few things I've been up to this past week? Sometimes it feels like all the days blur into one so I can't even remember if all these things were even in the same week lol >.<

Yesterday(?) I went to the South Center Mall with my aunt and uncle because they wanted to show me and my sister the new arcade that recently opened up there called Round 1. I didn't get a chance to get tons of pictures of everything because once we went in there we got excited and just started playing around and looking everywhere haha. But here's what I got!

Here's a shot of what it looks like inside. It's your typical dark arcade with loud noises, people, and music with flashing lights everywhere haha. The cool thing about this place is that there's also karaoke rooms you can reserve with friends as well as a bowling alley! It's pretty huge in there I must admit lol. But we only stayed in one corner of the arcade because we were only checking it out.

As you can see we were excited about the cute UFO machines they had there hahaha. But use caution! Try it once and then have an expert do it for you if you know one because the claws on the machines are weak T___T we wasted at least 32 credits on trying to get the Rilakkumas LOL!

Ah yes the credits. So I actually haven't been to many "arcades" really, just the one that used to be down in the water front in Seattle. Most of the games either needed cash or coins I think? At Round 1 they have a card system and you buy a card and reload it as you wish! We bought a card and started out with about 64 credits I believe? The UFO machines are 8 credits a try U__U

Then my mom mentioned that they have cute photo booths and my sister and I got excited because we knew she was talking about the purikura machines!! They cost 24 credits~

This was a different machine we wanted to try (there are 3 choices) but it was down at the time 3: 

If you don't know what purikura are they're super cute photo booths that are known for their hyper "kawaii" effects and designs! They're popular mainly in Asian countries ^.^

See how big it makes your eyes?! There are effects like face and leg slimming as well as blemish clearing and eye enlarging! CUTE~

My sister tried out a shooting game with the remaining credits hahaha~ I don't remember what it was called though.

The day before that we had a barbecue when my uncle came back from Alaska and I was grill master *___* hahaha we made Korean barbecue as well as grilled veggies and seafood :3

And last but NOTTT LEAST!!! I hung out with the BESTIES at our annual summer reunion thingy!! That's the one day out of the entire year everyone can be together :'D In person at least lol! <3 I love these ladies so much ^___^

In the same order as last year mind you ^__<

~A Mini Review AND A Mini "DIY"~

Hey hey hey it's FRIDAYYYYY YOU GUYS!!! Woo! I'm just starting to settle down now from a fun  filled week alternating between hanging out with friends and (reunited and it feeeeels soooo GOOOOD!) among other things I'm about to talk about!

So I guess I'll go in the order of the list I put in the title of this post and start with the mini review! I'm shoving these two posts together because I don't think it's necessary to have two separate blog posts for each one lol.

Today's mini review will be on these AWESOME masks I discovered at Uwajimaya last weekend:

They are masks that look like MASKS!! Could I be any more vague? Hahaha you'll see...

Kind of weird but really interesting and cool compared to plain masks!

See? They look like those cool opera masks and stuff! There were tonssss of different designs but I chose this one because I thought the pink and purple flowers looked nice. The effects each of the masks offered were pretty similar anyways so I just went for design this time! Hahaha~ Some stores even sell ones that look like animals! I want to try those out sometime too!


The thing about single masks is, I don't usually buy them for the sake of it having an immediate effect on my skin. Mostly I get them to either try out a particular scent or try a brand I haven't tried yet. In this case I have tried Pure Smile before and it's currently my second favorite brand after My Beauty Diary and I just wanted to try it for the cool look of the mask haha ^>^

Another reason I like M.B.D. masks is they come with that plastic cover for ease of unfolding the mask. With this one I had trouble unfolding it and was scared it might rip! But luckily it didn't *phew* If you get these kinds of masks proceed with caution!!

Overall the look was cool and I want to try more masks like this but not necessarily for their effects. The scent of this one was strongly reminiscent of flowery notes like soapy perfume, ya get me? I didn't like the scent all that much. Lots of essence too, one very nice thing I noticed from Pure Smile, I like the consistency and amount of essence given! And of course my face was pretty much the same afterwards (left it on for a little over half an hour? Ooops I lost track of time! hahaha).

As for the mini DIY...I don't actually have a tutorial for anything this week ahha T__T BUT! I am currently working on making this dress:

I didn't draft up a pattern for this or anything. This is one of those projects that I don't pre-plan and I just go at them in a kind of angry and frustrated manner hahaha~ But I don't think it turned out so bad. I just need to finish the bottom ( I ran out of fabric and it ended up a bit too short for my taste lol) and add a few darts in places then it should be good :3 I'm excited to just wear it out regularly and over tee shirts and stuff. I wish more stores sold stuff like this~ Maybe when I get a hang of this pattern I'll do a tutorial for it? :D

I actually had a few posts queued up and they were supposed to post throughout the week but for some reason they didn't post! SO I guess I'll just wait to post them a bit longer so I don't have post after post popping up on here haha.
